Install:

1) Unzip Tricky Squares.lev and Tricky Squares.lcl in incubation/missions
2) Unzip Tricky Squares.txt in incubation/data/txt/english/briefing
3) start the game in instant action (1 player only).

Description: Tricky Squares

    This is an abstract level and I can't think of a scenario to accompany it (well, not one that would sound plausible anyway)! Your squad finds themselves in area consisting mainly of large square floor tiles suspended over a big hole. There are twelve tiles marked 'A', your squad must capture these tiles. Be warned, some of these tiles are unstable, if too much weight is put on any one tile it may collapse and fall into the depths below.

Objective: Capture all areas marked 'A'. To do this simply stand on, or walk over, the marked areas (they will turn red when captured).

    You will fail the mission if all of your marines are killed.

Recommended Difficulty: Play this at difficulty level 2     :-)


It may be worth noting the following points:
  • Unstable floor tiles will collapse if 3 or more units are standing on them.
  • There are some tiles that are stable and therefore will not collapse. Included in this group are the tiles that you have to capture, tiles that have Scay'Ger floor holes in, and tiles that are attached to any of the narrow bridges.
  • There are enough stable tiles to ensure that no tile you have to capture becomes isolated from any other tile you have to capture.
  • Remember, barrels and crates are counted as units too!
  • There are a small number of tiles will collapse if less than 3 units are on them. In this case they will only collpase if the unit(s) on them are Scay'Ger, they will not collapse if any of the units are yours (unless, of coarse, there are 3 or more units on them). So, in your case, assume that unstable tiles will only collapse if 3 or more units are on them.
