This wad contains the first items I ever did on my PC in terms of designing for games. (Actually to be even more accurate, the first thing i ever did was the cactus graphic that replaces the menu 'skull' graphics M_SKULL1 and M_SKULL2, at the time my friends found this very ammusing). The contents of this wad were designed, i think, shortly after the release of Doom2. It was supposed to be the beginnings of a western themed TC, but I quickly realised that the tools of the time would not allow me to achieve the effects i wanted in terms of player weapons and monster behaviour, so the project was abandoned. Of course, with the source code now available and with ports like ZDOOM being extremely flexible, i would easily be able to create the effects I wanted....but I have loads of ideas I want to try and not enough time so I wont ever get around to actually doing anything with the contents of this wad. So, feel free to use any of the contents of this wad for whatever purpose you want, mind you it all looks kinda dated now. This wad contains wood style text replacing the original doom2 menu text and a wood style status bar. There are also replacements for graphics such as the main page and credits page, but these are unfinished, so don't expect too much. At the time I also started playing around with the status bar face, but never finished the total set (probably got bored). The following face graphics were replaced; STFST01 STFST00 STFST02 STFOUCH0 STFEVL0 STFKILL0 STFST11 STFST10 STFST21 STFST31 STFST41 STFGOD0 STFDEAD0 I have reused some of these to create a full set, but obviously there is a lot of repetition and thus a lack of animation. You have been warned, so don't moan :) Thats about it... -Russell Pearson (24th June 2001) email: rddp@duellist.net
