Decade Map Comparisions Walkthrough
Here's a run down of all the areas I re-interpreted for inclusion in Decade. There's probably not as many areas as most would imagine. There are loads of sections I wanted to include but was unable to. The map was growing far too huge and I had to call it a day somewhere.
The first area is a recreation of E3M1. Keeping true to the original level, you start in a pit which rises when you throw a switch. The picture below shows that the two skull poles have been replaced with crates.

Next up comes the start area from E1M1.

Here we have the potion room/rocket launcher secret from MAP01. Okay, I know it's just a room with blue bottles in it.

Another area from E1M1. I did intend to replace those ceiling lights with display screens so it was more true to the original, but I never got around to doing it.

E1M3. I got a bit carried away with this one :). The solitary imp hiding up in the wall of the original is replaced by an arachnatron (plus a whole load more imps).

Another area from MAP01 (obviously).

The early area of E2M1. A whole section of this map has been recreated here. You have the outer 'hanger' area, the 'observation room' and the upsidedown cross.

....and, just for completeness, here is the E2M1 cross.

Another area from E1M1. I didn't include the columns because I had to allow the player sufficient room to manouver.

An area based on part of MAP10. This was really quick to construct but it took quite I while to get it to play the way I wanted it to.

A whole area of MAP03 comes next. The room shown in the screen shot below (plus the outer corridor) were the last parts of the map I built. I was running out of steam at this point which is why it's fairly lacklustre. Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that I wasn't really looking forward to dealing with the rocket crate explosion scripts.

Continuing with the MAP03 theme. Another area where I got carried away. This is my favourite section of the map.

MAP07. Here I finally got to use a variation on the mancubus that I've been wanting to include in one of my maps for over 3 years.

Finally, a recreation of the last area of E1M1.
